Tom Ouellette…Attended St. Augustine’s Catholic School and De La Salle Academy, graduating from Rogers High School in 1949. Tom was employed by the Lion Drug Company from 1949 to 1983 when the company sold to Newport Prescription, he continued working as a Pharmacy Technician until 1985. He then went to work for the Rhode Island Army National Guard, retiring in 1990. Tom returned to Newport Prescription and is still currently employed there. Tom became a member of the James L. Maher Center Board of Directors in 1972 and served as president from 1984 to 1986. He remains on the board as director emeritus to the present time. Tom serves as chairman of the Center’s Picnic from 1992 to present. He was the recipient of the James L. Maher Center Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Tom is a member of the Newport Council #26, Knights of Columbus in 1965. He served as grand Knight in 1972-1973, Blood Bank Chairman 1974-1990, and Present of the Columbus Club from 1978-1982, MR (Mental Retardation) Tootsie Roll Chair of the Newport Council in 1980 and the State Chairman in 1987 to present. Tom
is on the board of directors of the Newport Columbian Federal Credit
Union from 1970 – 1978; served as secretary from 1979 – 1982, vice
president 1984 – 1986, manager and board member from 1985 to present. |
