Strategic Plan

Peter Saunders...A retired math teacher from the Newport School Department having taught at Thompson from 1963 – 1991. Since retirement he has been working social events both for other caterers and also self-employed. Reading, travel and golf are his hobbies.

Peter joined the Board in 1990. He served as vice-president before becoming President of the Board in March of 1997, a position he has held since. He serves on the Personnel, Finance & Audit Committee, Scholarship Committee and Golf Committee.

Peter has been active over the years in Church, Fraternal and Civic organizations. He served the Knights of Columbus in many positions on local and state level. He served as a State Deputy and Master of the Fourth Degree. He also served as Exalted Ruler and Trustee in the Newport Elks Lodge. He has been President of the Board of the Newport Columbian Credit Union since 1978.

He and his wife Dianna have been married since 1964 and have two children and two grandchildren.
