All of our jewelry begins with polymer clay in a variety of vivid colors and created in a process akin to glass making. Sheets of clay are fed through a ravioli machine, combined and recombined to create long rods of multi-colored clay called caines. The caines are then cut and the pieces rolled by hand into individual beads. Maher Center clients then bake, polish and finally string the beads into the characteristic, unique Beaded Star pieces. The addition of the Beaded Star starfish provides the finishing touch to each piece.
