Christine Mouligne…was born in
Newport
. Her parents were also Newport natives, however they spent many
years traveling throughout the United States and Europe while her father
served in the Army. She graduated from Nurnberg American High
School in Nurnberg, Germany and then went onto study at the University
of Maryland satellite program in Munich, Germany, which was designed to
accommodate students of military personnel throughout Europe. She
graduated from college with a degree in Child Development and Family
Relations and later pursued her Teacher Certification. Her passion
directed her towards employment in the Social Services and participation
in numerous volunteer programs. She is actively involved in the Star
Kids Scholarship Program, which assists children from high-risk families
in completing their high school education. She has been a mentor
to a child in this program for five years.
Christine
has been married to Patrick for 29 years and they have two sons. As
a family they have spent many years sailing the coast of New England,
Bermuda and the Caribbean. Christine's interest in the welfare of others
stems from her feeling of gratitude, "I have been fortunate
in my life to be surrounded by a supportive family and devoted friends.
Life has been good to me and I feel it is my human obligation to assist
others less fortunate in obtaining whatever happiness possible."
